Jewish Museum Milwaukee, located on the bluffs above LakeMichigan in the historic Lower Eastside of Milwaukee (and blocks fromdowntown), tells the history of the Jewish people through the lens of SEWisconsin. The Museum builds bridges between diverse communities andconnects historical events to contemporary issues through its 3 specialexhibits and 40 plus programs a year. It offers a safe space to exploreshared experiences; a place where conversations happen.The museum has won several awards including the 2015 Governor’sArchives Award for Archival Innovation, awarded by the Library-Archives of the Wisconsin HistoricalSociety in October 2015 and the History in Progress Award from the American Associationof State and Local History, one of three projects recognized nationally inOctober 2015. JMM’s partner, Milwaukee Public Television won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievementfor Arts/Entertainment Programming for a Program/Series/Special for “The ArtsPage” episode on the exhibit curated by JMM ""Stitching History From theHolocaust"".JMM offers individual tickets to the museum and its programs,adult group tours, school tours with workshops and event rental space for parties,presentations, meetings, luncheons and more. The soaring Atrium space hasa 72 inch HD monitor for presentations and the board room offers projection andscreen. A sound system is available. Event attendees enjoy the ability to tourthe special and permanent exhibits. The museum has a parking lot and is conveniently located on theHOP route, has a Bubbler bike rental across the street, and is steps from OakLeaf bike trail. Many restaurants are within a short walking distance.
