TheMilwaukee Youth Arts Center (MYAC) created 14 years ago to be the home of the MilwaukeeYouth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) and First Stage Children’s Theater (FS). We provide rehearsal, training, and limited performancespace for youth arts in the city of Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin. MYAC sits at acritical junction, connecting downtown Milwaukee to our surroundingneighborhoods. We are an asset to the neighborhood and our surroundingcommunities, including Haymarket, Schlitz Park, Hillside, and Halyard Park. Ourcentral location was chosen to allow First Stage and MYSO to further expand aswell as initiate programming to increase and improve the accessibility ofprograms for the underserved youth of the City of Milwaukee.We have 5rehearsal halls (150 to 300 capacity) and 9 studios (30-50 capacity) servicesfrom a central day lit commons space. All on our main floor containing about50,000 GSF. We have anunfinished lower level of 25,000 GSF with electrical capacity and loadingaccess. MYAC also ownsthe building directly north of our home located at 1702 N. Vel Phillps that contains just under 20,000 GSF. The startup school tenant vacates in June of2020. We arelocated just north of Fiserv Forum at the southwest corner of MLK Drive and W.Walnut Street. Anticipatingthe difficult daily access during DNC 2020, we are scheduling our summerprogramming around the convention thereby making our building spaces available forrent. We are a501c3 and the income we receive goes directly supports space for youth arts education and maintainingthe quality of our facilities.
